Observation and Reflection from a Typhoon

Cooking,Food and Love

                                       

          People in different countries and different places of the world eat different kinds of things. Foods are cooked and eaten in many different kinds of ways. People in different countries eat at different times of the day. In some places people eat once or twice a day, in other countries people eat three or four times a day. But in my family, my sister and I are always eat several times a day. (e.g. ice cream, cookies, fruit) Although all are junk food, but we still like to eat.

        When I was a child, my mother taught me how to make the fried egg. I just put a frying pan on the stove and turn on the gas. Then put a little cooking oil in the pan. While waiting for the oil to become hot, break the egg, put some salt or sugar in the bowl and then mix them. As soon as the oil becomes hot, pour the mixture into the pan. As one side of the egg turns yellow, turn it over. When both sides are cooked, put the egg onto a plate. The fried egg is ready for me to eat. I think it is very yummy.

       My mother says that there is variety of food that people should eat every day. They are green and yellow vegetables of all kinds, citrus fruits and tomatoes, bread or cereal. And she says that none of the differences is really important. It doesn’t matter whether foods are eaten raw or cooked, canned or frozen. It doesn’t matter that a person eats dinner at four o’clock in the afternoon or at eleven o’clock at night. The important thing is what you eat every day.

      Food can make me happy. For this reason, my mother learned a lot about the kinds of food in order to let me eat the delicious food. I think each dish is full of love.

My Learning Experience-Joy and Challenges

               As a student, i know the aim of students coming to school is to study and i really realize study must require a right way. But in my life, it’s difficult for me to learn English. As a result, how to improve my English well became my challenge.
    Although I am aware of the best time for reading is the morning, because in the morning the air is fresh and the mind is clear. I can therefore get a good result. Due to I go to the Tutorial centers learning study every day cause my body is tired usually. Resulting in wasted daily morning and missed the best time for reading. Afterward i know in studying i must have patience. If I have not well known a chapter ,I should read it again and again. Sometimes i should read the second chapter till i have realized the first paragraph. I will be felt disappointed in this time. I consider that the other students in English are superior to me. Third, I know i can’t study only by mouth and i can’t be absent of mind, or i can get nothing from the book while i am studying. Even though I know this truth, but I can’t for a long time to learn.
     In the end, I finally know the important thing is i must always ask “why”. If it is not well understood, (e.g. Content of the article) I can write the question down and ask my teachers, classmates or parents. I ought to understand it thoroughly, and my knowledge can be improved. How should I do? Because I was a shy girl. I dared not to ask the other person and I’m afraid people think I’m sick. Though there are many ways of studying, the above will be quite enough if I can practice them.
    Next year, all of form 6 students will face the HK Diploma Secondary School Examination. Also include me. This it’s the last alarming challenge for us, then I will do my best to overcome my poor English.              

My First Encounter with African Culture – Music and Dance

      That day the weather was hot. My friend and I ate lunch nearby our school restaurant. After that, we went to school quickly because we know that we have an active.

        

        I consider that the African drum is a work of art. I originally thought that this activity is boring, but I was wrong. When my hands touch the African drum. It sends a calm voice. It made me exciting.

        

        In the activity, all of form 5 students listened to the black person what the rules he said. All students followed by black person’s rhythm beat of African drums and sung a song. We were happy at that moment. The black person not only required us to be consistent to play African drums, but also invited the students to the center of the stage dancing. Then some teachers were invited to dancing by the black person. To our surprised our principal were dancing and leaded us to play the African drums.

       

        Whole students were happy in the end of the activity. I think this event is interesting and make me know more about African Culture.
